Affiliate Disclosures

Many of the links on ChaseitStraight.com are affiliate links of which I receive a small commission from sales of certain items, but the price is the same for you. As I endeavor to grow ChaseitStraight.com, the associated costs increase with running, maintaining and marketing it, and these links are a way I help offset these costs.

Christina/ChaseitStraight.com is a participant in the Amazon Service LLC Associates Program; which is an affiliate advertising program designed to also provide an avenue for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

Not all links are associated with an affiliate program involving commission. Many of the smaller companies do not offer such programs, but offer products and services that I personally use and pay for. I am passionate about these companies and their offerings, and that is why I recommend them. If I post an affiliate link to a product, it is something I personally use, support and would recommend, and many I do recommend without an affiliate link.

Unless otherwise noted, all reviews are of items or services I have purchased myself and I am not paid or compensated in any way. This is my personal standard: I want to make sure that all reviews and recommendations on this site are unbiased, and products and services that I refer to, I love enough to purchase and use myself.

The following are companies I have an affiliate relationship with:

Happy 2nd Birthday!!

July 13, 2017

Hi everyone, this is our second birthday! Two years ago, I started this journey of writing and coaching others on health and wellness. It has been fun, and I have seen so many transformations. In honor of our birthday, I have a video talking about epigenetics. I know you are saying, "What is that? Epigenetics suggests that our behavior can influence which of our genes are turned on or off. Dr. Mark Hyman and Dr. Deepak Chopra have an interesting conversation about this.

Is pre-disposition predestined? The answer is no. This has been one of the biggest breakthroughs in medicine. Most people tend to attribute far too much power to their genes. I’ve seen thousands of patients who have blamed genetics for their ailments and diseases, however it is your lifestyle washing over your genes that determines who you are in any moment. What you eat, how you move, how you restore your system, along with your thoughts, feelings and social connections, regulate your genes. Those genes end up creating the expression of who you are and how you are. You can turn on genes that create health or disease, weight gain or weight loss.

Some genes can predispose you to obesity, type 2 diabetes or heart disease. But predisposition is not predestined. Ninety percent of our current health is controlled by the environment in which we bathe our genes – the food we eat, our exercise regimen, our resilience in the face of stress and our exposure to environmental toxins. You don’t have to sit back and accept that you’re doomed to become fat and sick.

In this conversation, I got to sit down with Dr. Deepak Chopra to talk about genes and the role of the microbiome in our health and its effects on our genes. In this video you’ll learn…

  • What foods are good for our microbiome

  • Examples of healthy fats and how fat can become dangerous

  • How our lifestyle affects our gene expression

  • The importance of social interaction

  • How meditation and breathwork can make us healthier

I think you’ll enjoy this conversation as much as I did. Thanks to epigenetics, you actually have a say in your health and you can create optimal health with the power of food and lifestyle.

I am in agreement with this paradigm. Although I come from 2 generations of heart disease, I do not have it. Is it a lot of work, yes! I have to make it my priority in what I eat, how I exercise and rest, and my daily lifestyle, but it is so worth it! Thanks for reading my blog and following me on social media. Stick around, we will always give you the latest information on health and wellness!

Happy Birthday Chase It Straight!

I am with you and in your corner!

Christina :)
